How to refresh your cat's space without changing everything
Cats love routine, but that doesn't mean their environment has to remain unchanged for years. Just as we move furniture, change bed linen, or redecorate our homes, a cat's space also needs a little refresh from time to time.
No major investments are needed. A few simple changes can rekindle their interest in their play structure, bed, or favorite toys and contribute to the cat's well-being.
1. Rotate the toys
Have you noticed that there are toys your cat adores for a while, then completely ignores?
This is perfectly normal. Cats are attracted to novelty.
Instead of leaving all toys available permanently, keep only a few, and store the rest. Every two to three weeks, change the selection. A "forgotten" toy will become interesting again without the need to constantly buy new ones.
If some are already very worn, replace them with quality alternatives, resistant to long-term use.
2. Clean or replace textiles
Pillows, beds, and hammocks quickly accumulate hair, dust, and other impurities.
Removable and washable textiles are the most practical choice because they can be washed regularly, keeping the cat's space clean and hygienic.

3. Change the perspective
Cats love to observe the world around them.

The same principle applies to beds, shelves, or hammocks.
4. Check the scratching posts
If you notice your cat has started scratching the sofa or furniture corners again, it's possible that the sisal posts are already very worn out.
As the fiber deteriorates, many cats lose interest in it.
Ideally, choose structures where the posts can be replaced individually, without having to replace the entire product. This extends the lifespan of the structure and saves money in the long run.
5. Help your cat recognize the new changes
After you clean or move an object, your cat might view it with suspicion.
For us, it's the same bed, but for them, the smell has completely changed.
To help them adapt faster, you can rub a favorite blanket or toy on the new surface, so it regains a familiar scent.
You can also use a little catnip or a treat when they investigate the new spot.
